Firms are using AI widely but struggling to realize measurable productivity gains. This pattern is now well documented. A survey from early 2026 of nearly 6,000 senior executives found that 69% say their company actively uses AI. More than two-thirds use it themselves, yet about nine in ten reported no measurable effect on either productivity or employment. In late 2025, McKinsey similarly found 88% of organizations use AI regularly, yet only 39% report any enterprise-level EBIT impact. A third 2025 study found that only 5% of AI pilots had produced measurable bottom-line impact.
